A Tribute to Those Memorialized on Our Cenotaph

The Sunderland Cenotaph is over one hundred years old. Through a federal grant and a generous donation from the Sunderland Lions Club, this memorial to the local men who lost their lives in the two world wars was recently given a facelift and a cleaning.  A slideshow detailing information about each of the veterans honoured on the monument was created by the Sunderland & District Historical Society,

Several years ago, society members Donald Gordon and Lola Sheridan, interviewed two of the community's seniors whose recall offers a colourful history of the village and its surrounding area.
